New York City-based readers!
We rarely do promotions here, but I used Fresh Direct for two or three years in the mid-aughts, and found it to be a reliable, convenient grocery service. I’m not receiving any compensation for posting this - I just like 'em.
It turns out, FD expanded their local food offerings pretty significantly, “and can now provide their customers with farm-to-table produce within 48 hours.”
I checked the Fresh Direct Local website, and there really is an impressive selection of local produce, meat, fish, dairy, and beer. (Ommegang! Rejoice!) There’s even a map of where everything comes from.
Bonus: Now until the August 31st, 2010, they’re offering a 20% discount on Local Market purchases. The code is: SUPPORTLOCAL, and you just have to enter it when you check out.
(Needless to say: “May not be combined with any other offer. All standard terms and conditions apply. Void where prohibited. Offer is non-transferable.”)
That’s it! Enjoy the meals, locavores!
